The Coady Roundball Classic (CRC), is the largest and longest running gay and lesbian annual basketball tournament in the world. This year’s tournament, our 20th anniversary, will be held April 17 and 18, 2010. All games will be held at the University of Illinois-Chicago Gymnasium, located at 901 W. Roosevelt Rd., Chicago, IL.
The CRC is an NGBA sanctioned event and serves as the National Gay Basketball Association’s Championship Tournament. Divisions offered include: Men’s A-Competitive, Men’s B-Intermediate; Men’s C-Recreational, Women’s A-Competitive and Women’s B-Recreational.
The tournament continues to experience tremendous growth. Last year’s event featured over 30 teams with players representing Washington D.C, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, New York, London, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Memphis, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, and many others. With so many divisions offered, the CRC provides an opportunity for players at any skill level to participate.
Chicago’s gay and lesbian community is again excited to host the CRC and its players. The tournament offers a great basketball experience for players of all skill levels and ages. Everyone is welcome to attend, compete, and partake in a great weekend.
